Project Overview
From imagining what all technology will be capable of doing in the twenty-first century to actually living the tech-life it has been quite a journey for the humanity. Technology has become such an integral part of everyday lives that we have to force ourselves in order to ignore it.
We, the youth, or the so-called 21st century kids grew up watching YouTube and online shows. Kids nowadays are more knowledgeable about apps and games than theorotical knowledge. On the other hand, our parent generation are still trying to learn all of it, so how can we expect them to learn and grasp the new technology as quickly as we do? We most emphatically cannot.
Can we however, simply take advantage of their comfortability and then use it to make others services accessible to them? We definitely can. But how do we approach the following? How do we know which services they already are familiar to? How do we make sure it’s user-friendly?

Project Focus
1) Researching about how elders find Cab services/apps difficult to operate and understanding how they’re comfortable with other interfaces like WhatsApp and Youtube.
2) Researching about the existing cabs services. Building user personas and understanding their pain points.
3) Providing a design solution to make the service more user-friendly.
4) Support the design solution with wireframes and prototypes.
5) Nowadays, everything works on/with technology and screens. However, is it for everyone? If not, then how can we make it that way?

After observing and speaking to the target audience around me, I came across how they are often use these following applications in their day to day lives.

Ola
The Ola app provides mobility solutions by connecting customers to drivers and a diverse range of vehicles such as bikes, auto-rickshaws, taxis, and cabs, allowing hundreds of millions of consumers and over 1.5 million driver-partners convenience and transparency.
Information displayed:
- Destination (point A to point B)
- Types of rides
- Map
- Hamburger
- Previous ride's information.
- Trending coupon(s)
- Mentioning the previous ride might confuse the elderly user. However, it's also important to remind the user about rating the driver.
- The usual pickup bar and the destination bar are a bit confusing if seen at first, since after one click on 'search destination', we automatically get the option of changing the pickup.

To make car ownership obsolete by making it cheaper and more convenient to Uber around town than buying and driving your own car. It also wants to eventually make all Ubers self-driven.

- Trending coupon(s). The coupon ad is highlighted on the screen, which might distract the user (elderly) from the actual use of the app.

- The user only needs to know how to type and scroll.
- Thumbnails help the user to get an idea of what they're going to click on.
- The Library shows everything a user has been looking up, saved,downloaded, and added, basically all the user activity in one place.

Summarizing the Interviews:
1/10 people do not use smart phones.
2/10 people do not use cab service or haven't booked one on their own.
6/10 people prefer Uber services over any other cab services. And others, mostly prefer Ola (on the basis of their UI and experience).
6/10 people find getting the right location very troublesome.
They say that there should be a feature to make the 'getting the right location' part easier.
3/10 people say voice recognition should be implemented in the
app.

Chosen Path
Since most of the users are comfortable using Uber, I would like to proceed with Ola and make
the experience easier for them, probably using the most used app amongst the elders,
WhatsApp (based on the interviews and data collected).
